[Sophie shakes her head] No, the mayor is still alive, as is Doctor Resarci and the others--[she cringes, thinking of Andre and corrects herself]--most of the others who were originally running the town. But it seems the older Resarci was gravely wounded, and we haven't heard of him since. And the others had to flee when the younger Resarci took over. Only Audrey came back; she worked with Nathan to help us. And yes, the younger Resarci seems to be working with the man that--well, that the mayor must have worked with originally to bring us here! [she blinks; she really hadn't thought about that before]

[but she pauses, thinking about that question for a long moment] I'm afraid I don't know. I believe Resarci's goal was the same as the Mayor's at first, but he then brought in his son and his...tele-vision...company. As far as I can tell, his son only wants to use us for entertainment! But what that other man might want, I've no idea. [she scowls] It's senseless. None of it is anything like a good reason to trap us all here!
