Not much. Collective escape appears to be possible, but so is recapture. A typical length of stay can last a couple months or more, but repeated abductions will compound that, possibly to seven or eight months or more. [Pause.] However long that is.

Alright! Here's what I've learned.

Take out a piece of paper and a pen, you're going to need it.

The first resident I encountered on this network mentioned that the guy who was behind what I assume were the first two "kidnappings" these people from other worlds experienced happened to be called Resarci. The man's current status seems to be unknown, with speculation pointing towards his death. I'm going to assume that the other residents, since they were able to return home, had actually managed to confront him, and managed to "defeat" him.

For some, this will be the third time they've come here, which suggests the ultimate mastermind hasn't been caught, or that someone has picked up where Resarci has left off...

Also, apparently, the people who were made to come here twice were placed onto tv 'subjected to weird events because the people here liked it'. That's what I was told by someone who was sent here, like us, and speaking of which, all the other people who don't really interact with us are kind of mindless drones.

[and since this is probably before she meets ichijou, this is her current information.]

So we are here as entertainment. That would explain the most, particularly given our generous accommodations, but I would rather it not be the case. [She looks at the matriorb.] I was on my way to deposit this in the core. I really think it was an important task, so this is an unwelcome interruption, to say the least.

It seems we can only go on the assumption similar events will occur to us here as they have to the other residents drawn from elsewhere too.

I think so too, so it's kind of inconvenient.

Favorites? Isn't it a little early for that? Everyone I've spoken to has been cooperative, though. It's a nice change of pace, I think.

The beginning? [Sophie frowns, considering where that might be] Well, when we first arrived, there were some actual people running the town. It was all part of a mad experiment of the mayor's to bring back the dead, if you can believe that!

But the mayor was betrayed by Doctor Resarci, who worked in the clinic in town. And then he was shot, and his son took over and endeavoured to turn the town into a sort of...entertainment. Like a play. They called it, ah... [she pauses, trying to remember] Tele-vision. And we were brought here again! Though I'm not certain why he brought so many of us who had been here before. We all knew that the people in town were quite fake--golems, I believe, or something like them. And we escaped again, of course. A man named Nathan helped us. And some people stayed here to work with him to catch Resarci, but the last I heard, they hadn't been able to.

And now... [she sighs] I must say, I've no idea what we're here for again, though I suspect it must be Filippo Resarci's doing in some way.

Maybe it is!

You can say that again. I'm too used to people being too much of a hardass or a grumpy grump pants or something else that's just a pain.

Aye. Aye, it could be. But why only take the Doctor, if that's the case? Why not all of us? And why now? Unless there was a reason to take the Doctor right when they did...

Tell me, what's going on in the town? There was supposed to be a celebration, from what I saw. Is there anything unusual going on there?

I thought humans were largely predisposed to peppering their sentiments with duplicity and pretense, but I'm seeing now that recalibration is in order. Probably for the better. If we are going to work with them, it will help if they're mostly sincere.

It would mean we could certainly actually trust the information that they give out. Either way, we've been all put into a difficult situation by these people, so it would make sure for us to work together instead of against each other.
