[Nathan paces in front of the many screens in Caligin's office, waiting for the remaining inhabitants to report to him. they'll note that none of the picture frames remain in the office. at all. once they all arrive, he immediately launches into his spiel. he doesn't seem to have the same vigor as he did when he first turned up to send the others home. in fact, he seems rather strained and tired but plows through everything anyway.]

By my calculations, his transmission was coming from this sector of nearby space. [he taps one of the screens, highlighting a cluster of a planets orbiting a sun about the same size and color as Earth's.] Thankfully, there aren't too many planets here in the Eta System--only five, and only four are habitable. [he points out which ones are, ignoring the one planet closest to the sun, Eta.] There are a couple neighboring solar systems around there that he might try to flee to, but chances are, uh, that he hasn't quite made it that far even if he has escaped from this particular system. No ships in this time period can possibly make a trip that quickly. The technology isn't advanced enough for such things.

[he pauses for a second, heading over to a printer which has been spitting out copies of the coordinates and other details about the planets in the Eta system. silence falls during that moment, but then he suddenly looks up as if he's forgotten something.] Oh! Uh, speaking of travel, everything should be all done with the transport I wanted to provide for you. So your, er, TARD-IS should be back together again and completely functional. [turns to the other group] And I've arranged for a vessel from one of your worlds to appear in the lower level's docking bay. The on-board AI is probably a bit confused about the change in venue, so insert this data and it'll get it up to speed about this galaxy. [holds a data chip out to Croix and Wash as he passes out the copies] And I have one for your ship as well if it needs it. [hands it off as he passes copies to Jamie, Xion, and the Doctor]

That should be it! The CATs should be able to work outside the lab, but do not, under any circumstances, lose them. They're my only means of contacting you--and you contacting each other and Ichijou here in the lab. And I'd advise not using them in public. The people in the Eta System... [sighs, shaking his head] Just trust me. I don't want you getting separated from each other in case the fans get too crazy. I think you've all seen the comments by now... [gestures to a stack of papers on Caligin's desk] All of you are galactic stars of varying degrees, especially to those in the Eta system. Their level of dedication can be...scary. So just be careful.

[he looks like he wants to take a seat, but settles for leaning against the desk] Ah, and one last thing! All of the planets should have atmosphere and gravity comparable to this station, so you won't have to worry about, you know, breathing. There are some space suits down in the docking bay if you want to bring one just in case. [though he doubts the guy in the armor has to worry about that]

Contact me if you need anything or get into trouble. Just...don't call to shoot the breeze or anything, though. I have a job to do too.

❧ Plot Details: Off-Season 1

Eta-60510 / Survivor

Uninhabited, but named for the one and only reality show that dared to try to live on there. That painfully short season effectively ended the longest running series on galactic television when all involved went there and died. A monument would have been erected in their honor in the tribal area, but...Eta government officials thought it best just to seal off the planet and name it after the ill-fated show.

Eta-90210 / Gaga Rah-Rah-Rah

Fashion central of the Eta system--and very experimental. (And we mean "experimental" in all senses of the art and science worlds.) Bodily mutation and modification as a fashion statement is common. (This includes even having swappable heads and limbs of organic and non-organic origins.)

Eta-00042 / Hyne-Savage

Most inhabited planet of the system, with 75% of its surface covered with tall, vast cities. Central hub of the Eta System. The system seat of government is located here and still relies on Earth's government for things, but the Eta Central Government (or ECG for short) can largely do its own things so long as it stays in the rules from the Earth. Yeah for colony governments! Oh yes, that other 25% of the planet's land? Is dedicated to the daily mass explosions that sound off the start of a new day.

Eta-51212 / Fremercury

Largely used as a vacation planet. There are resorts and sparkling beaches, and deep, lush forests to get lost in. People occasionally go missing, but that's normal...isn't it? It might not--hey, look at the pretty musical statues! The planet also doubles as a memorial for all lost icons, both ancient and in recent times. It's a pretty, peaceful, and tranquil place... Really.

Eta-51411 / Jailhouse Rock

This prison planet is a desolate waste on the outside, but inside the rather ugly, uninviting buildings, the most dangerous criminals in the Eta system are taught how to play instruments and are thrown regular parties. The morale is surprisingly high considering that inmates will not be allowed to leave once they arrive...

[There's a pause.] ... though... I didn't hide where there were a lot of people...

[She stops, now, and she frowns, thinking.] I hid where there were no people. No one who could say, "oh, yes, I've seen a mysterious person around"... But would he think like me?

Look, I'll have ye know it's only been a few months since I was in the TARDIS, thank ye very much... [He starts to take off after the Doctor, but stops when he notices Xion's stopped as well.]

Hey? Do ye think he might have gone to somewhere deserted then, like that Survivor place?

Maybe. But that place sounds too dangerous, even if it is empty. It's empty for a reason. But that vacation world -- There's forests, right? Where it's easy to get lost.

Aye, ye might be right, at that. And those resort places...well, there'd be people there, would there not? So if he wanted to hide in plain sight he could do that too.

Yeah, and everyone'd be too busy enjoying themselves to pay much attention to him. Plus, he'd be able to have a good time while he's hiding... There's not a whole lot to do when you're in hiding.

Other than wait around and hope you've not been discovered. [He might be a little familiar with that, too.]

Well, if we don't catch up with the Doctor neither one of us'll get to go much of anywhere. Come on, Xion.

[At that, Xion smiles and laughs a little.] Yeah, you're right. Let's go!

Aye. [Jamie takes off at a jog in order to catch up with the Doctor, figuring Xion will be right behind him. It occurs to him, though, he's not exactly sure where they've gone and put the TARDIS now that it's back together.]

Hey, is the TARDIS much further, Doctor?

[he only half-registers the contents of their discussion, his long strides taking him farther away from them in his eagerness. well, and his own meandering thoughts about the different planets and how the local names for them amuse him immensely]

Hmm? Oh! Well, not much longer actually. I spotted the old girl outside Lab #4 and if you look round this corner here... [he leans past said corner, poking his head out into vast observation deck. an excited smile is starting to grow on his face again as he spots his dear ship]

[That smile... Once Xion sees the look on the Doctor's face, her own lights up. (The reasoning is probably very noticeable and obvious.) That spark of excitement returns, and she can hardly contain her energy again.]

I can't wait to meet her.

Hey, the TARDIS! [Even Jamie seems happy to see her - at least, for the moment. He goes right up to the doors before turning around to wait for the others, rather impatiently.]

Would ye come on?

[is digging around for the key, and gives Jamie a look that just dissolves into an excited smile again] Ohhh...wait until you see her.

[a quick slip and turn of the key--and he's got the door open. he heads on in ahead of them to greet his old girl at the central console--but he makes sure to have an eye on the doors too so he can see their reactions]

[Xion simply... stands there in the doorway, stunned. She's seen the TARDIS in the memories the Doctor shared with her, but to see it in person... to be here, to really be here... It isn't something she ever expected would happen, no matter how much she hoped and wished for it. In this place, this wonderful place, she knows that anything, anywhere, any time is possible. All the stars, all the worlds are within reach. When it all becomes too much, the TARDIS doors would open, and then you could just... run away, or run towards it, or behind it, or beside it.

Here, Sora is awake and playing with his friends in Destiny Islands, and he's battling Heartless in Hollow Bastion. Riku is holding his hand out to Sora as he sinks into darkness, and he's practicing with his wooden sword. Kairi is listening to her grandmothers' stories, and she's cheering her friends on as they race each other. Axel has a heart and is still the same guy who suggests they trick the rest of the Organization into thinking Xion can still use the Keyblade. Roxas is taking her up to the Twilight Town clock tower for the first time and introducing her to ice cream and friendship, and at the same time, he's --

Xion realizes that she's clutching her chest, right where her heart is -- would be? no, is. She also realizes she's crying.]

[Hurriedly, she lifts her arm to wipe her face on her sleeve. Maybe if she's lucky, no one saw. To further cover it up, she darts forward, her smile brighter than her eyes.]

Oh, wow! She's so beautiful!

[Jamie, on the other hand, is looking around with an expression that could best be described as 'stunned'. It's so different than the TARDIS he was used to that it might as well be another time machine entirely. Only the central console looks remotely familiar, and even that's a stretch. He gives the Doctor a rather disbelieving look.]

Doctor, what have ye done with the place?

[whether the Doctor saw Xion's tears or not, he isn't going to say] Isn't she? [beams]

Well, Jamie, I wanted a new look! New new Doctor, new new TARDIS! Isn't the first time I've changed the old girl's looks either.

So! Have we decided where we're going? [starts installing the data Nathan had given him while he waits!]

Fremercury, I think. There are a lot of good places to hide there...

[... she still can't believe she's here, she's really here. This is actually something that's going to happen.]

Oh. Well, if you've changed it before I suppose that's alright then.

[However, at least part of him had been expecting it to be like it had been before, and he's still not entirely sure what he truly thinks, not yet. He's tempted, though, to ask about his old room...but he can do that a wee bit later.]

Aye, Fremercury, like Xion said.

[during all this set-up, the Doctor's already moving Jamie's old room out of storage and creating a new one for Xion. he'll tell them about it later]

Fremercury, eh? [he inputs the coordinates, running halfway around the console to flip a switch before running back, his fingers flying over a few other buttons and dials as he goes] Better hold on!

[and without further warning, the TARDIS wheezes to life, the central column churning loudly--and the room bucking with the movement as the TARDIS starts the journey to their destination]
