[Nothing much has changed in the interior of Dr. Caligin's office since Nathan gave everyone leave to make their decisions. Nathan is still there waiting by Lab #3. If they are returning from doing whatever around the spacestation, they'll notice that all of the photos on the wall have been removed and stacked neatly on the desk, along with all of Caligin's possessions that had been shoved into a desk drawer. (Of course, if one had never left the office, one would have seen him pulling all of the photos down.)]

If you have made your decision, please let me know now. And, uh, if you haven't for some reason and want to ask me something, I guess you can do that too.

So you've found a fake one in the past, huh? Let me guess, it was missing some notes or had been transcribed incorrectly from the real version. [at this point, he figures it must be an ancient song of some kind.]

More like it was missing entire parts. [He sighs, shakes his head.] Luca said it also contained the wrong feelings. She said that while she was singing, she was having trouble breathing.

[Not that he quite understands the whole thing for himself... but he's trying. Why are women so complicated...?]

Don't mention it. Just close the door once you're ready, okay? [waits for her to enter the inner chamber]

[he nods] Yes, part of that vessel is already here, so I saw no reason why I shouldn't bring it here in its entirety. [though he does have to figure out what transportation the other two will be using, and he wants to leave something behind for Ichijou as well in case anything happens] It may take a while, but once everyone who wishes to leave has left, I can focus my attention on the, er, TARD-IS. [he sounds uncertain about the word, as he has no idea what one of those is.]

[once she's inside, Nathan heads over to the observation chamber. he knows there's no reason why he should; he could do it anywhere and still have the same effect. nonetheless, he knows the others would expect some adherence to the ritual. with a shake of his head, he opens what he's retrieved and places the empty container on the table in front of him with the others. when he's done doing what must be done, he knows Sophie is no longer in that chamber.]

...I see. [yeah, he's not a singer himself, so he doesn't quite understand why she'd have difficulty breathing] Sounds like you still have a long road ahead of you.

Yeah, we do, which is why I need to see things here through to the end first. I don't want to wonder if I'll just get pulled away later.

[dryly] Trust me, ye don't want to know. More trouble than it's worth, sometimes.

[He's relieved to hear it all the same, however, and nods.] Well, I'm supposed to meet the Doctor here anyway, so I'll just go and keep an eye out while ye do.
