however, appearing only to the residents' CATs is a video transmission featuring someone whose face is obscured in the shadows, but from the timbre of the voice, it's a young man.]

[the transmission cuts out suddenly and is replaced with a picture of a blue screen that simply reads: "Signal Lost." it takes a few moments for that screen to go away, but what--or who--appears next may surprise the residents...]

[casually] Oh, you know, an artificial intelligence thing you put in your head and you can talk with it and stuff. [pause] You aren't in my head, are you?

[tilts his head slightly] Hmm, I don't know... [is tempted to pass his hand through the hologram, but he doesn't want to risk hurting it]

[gasps] That's exactly what I was thinking!

Yeah... I get that a lot... [a short pause before he changes the subject] Do you have a name, Tiny Person Who May Or May Not Be An AI?

Hello, Kiki! [hold on while he processes the rest of what was just said. excitedly] Wait a minute, the Mighty Mu Mu! Is he a magician? Oh! Or a superhero? Or better yet, a magician AND a superhero?!

It's a game where these big, burly men--and sometimes, fast sprinty type people--throw around something called a "pig skin", and then they take the pig skin and throw it around for a while before they get tired from all the turkey they ate earlier. Then they take a nap while a bunch of pretty ladies sing, and dance, and toss each other around the field--[he stops, realizing something]--just like a pig skin!

Ohh, and here's the best part! When they throw the pig skin through the hoop, a bunch of confetti rains down on all the players!

[mind you, he's thinking solely about the confetti at this point...]

It sounds weird. I don't even eat meat, so I wouldn't have a pig skin to play with anyways.

Oh, it's not a real pig skin. Not now, anyway. [lowers his voice] It would be a really dirty and gross one by now. ...Probably shouldn't think of what they do with the pig skin when they're not using it for the game.

I think at one time it really was made of real pigs! But throwing a real pig around without getting crushed is a bit messy--and a bit heavy. So! The next best thing was the skin, and that is the story of the naked pig!

[he doesn't respond immediately, turning the question over in his head] ...What does a sheep have to do with football?

N-Nothing, but I wonder what they did with the pig skin when they weren't playing with it?

Oh, they probably put it in with the rest of the players in the locker room until they were ready to play again. They had to recharge their batteries, after all. [sage knowledge is sage, oh yes]
