[when Sophie activates her CAT, her expression is determined. behind her, the scenery of the town square is visible as she's currently walking through it--and at a brisk pace, too]

Anyone who means to search for the item Nathan mentioned, I'll be in the space station. If you get there soon, I'm starting in the mayor's office.

[with that said, she moves to turn off her CAT--but stops, looking to the side as though distracted. she snaps:] No, I'm not going to be that specific over the CAT! What if someone is listening? [she pauses--and scowls] It's not a lie. I'll tell them more when I see them. [and after one more pause, she bursts out:] Gah! Would both of you be quiet!? [and she continues on her way--stomping rather. it seems something has annoyed her]

[ooc: Sophie is going to search for the blueprints to lead them to the missing lab--and hopefully the film. Feel free to join her! Or, if you'd prefer, just have a conversation over the CAT~ Also, threadhopping is welcome if you want to search without her!]

[The response is almost instantaneous.]

I'll meet you there.

[Xion's voice is firm.] I made up my mind a long time ago.

[A pause (You should give Filippo a chance), then, quieter, as if to herself,] No. I won't. He's already proven what he's like. This is the right thing to do.

[Another pause.] I'm sure.

[Sophie nods, though she gives Xion a curious look. but she decides to wait until they see each other to have that conversation] In that case, I'll see you shortly.

[she's through the Town Square now, determinedly approaching the Mayor's House]

[Xion almost walks there, but then remembers that she can use corridors of darkness again.

She'll be there waiting for Sophie.]

Oh! [Sophie is surprised to see her when she enters Caligin's office assuming it's okay with you to assume that's where Xion is. but when she recovers from her surprise, she smiles] I'd forgotten you could travel so quickly! Xion...have you been well?

[(That's cool with me. :} My bad for forgetting to specify!)

Xion returns Sophie's smile with one of her own.] Yeah. I've been okay. I waited to look around until you got here.

Have you found anything? [she looks curiously around the room]

Not yet. If there's anything locked, hopefully, the Keyblade will be able to take care of that... [She's not sure, though. There have been so many times when that didn't work...

As it is, though, Xion will start with Caligin's desk, opening and closing drawers, taking the time to sift through papers and see if there are hidden compartments.]

[Hawk's still frowning when he gets there, though it's a little more distracted now- it's not really a big thing if Sophie uses Mister, but… He shakes it off on seeing them, offering a smile.]

Hey, Sophie, Xion. How's it going so far?

[He turns towards the bookcases, going to look through the documents there.]

[Xion pauses long enough to look up and flash him a smile.]

Hi, Hawk! We just got started.

[It doesn't take too much longer for Jamie to poke his head in the door, just in time to catch what Xion's said.]

Aye, well, then, maybe ye could do with another hand.

[Since Xion has the desk and Hawk the bookcases, Jamie focuses on the paneling, looking for any unusual breaks in the paneling that might indicate a hidden compartment somewhere.]

[Sophie doesn't realise her mistake in addressing Hawk. admittedly, it's hard to break such a habit quickly, and her mind is elsewhere at the moment as she goes to the wall of screens and begins poking at them. she is quite possibly the last person who should be trying to access computer files, but she does her best to see if there's anything she can bring up on them]

Yes. Hello Hawk, Jamie. [she turns to address the group, giving them a quick smile of greeting before she lowers her voice a bit] I'm hoping to find a blueprint of this building--Nathan is certain there's another lab, and that's where the "film" keeping us here is held. If you see anything that looks like a map, say so right away.

[and she turns back to the screen, determined in her rather awkward search]

[Nope, she isn't late at all, k.

She's peering in the door. Also, trying to "see" if there was anywhere in the office they happened to have not looked around in. If not, there were other places in the space station she could search, right?]

Looks like it's a party already. How is the search going so far? There weren't any booby traps, were then?

[Sophie turns, giving Terezi a nod] Hello, Terezi. Not yet, but I don't believe we've found anything just yet either. [her expression is slightly disgruntled. computers really aren't her strong suit]

All I have to say from here is that the books don't bite. Which is nice, but not all that helpful. [He puts back this lot of books with a sigh, and moves to the next shelf.]

[Jamie glances over from his search for hidden compartments in the wall, catching sight of Sophie's expression.]

Och, trying to find anything in those computery-things is next to impossible.

[Unless...Xion did seem to pick up on some of those wee gadgets on the TARDIS easily enough. Maybe she could do the same here?]

Say, Xion, ye weren't so bad with that, though. Would ye know where to look for blueprints in there?

[Huh? Oh -- The computer!]

Oh! I didn't even think about that. [She'll stop what she's doing and move to help Sophie. If she managed to find information about the Replica Program on computers back home... She can try, right?]

[Ichijou's sitting at a table and looks to be about halfway through giving himself a French manicure. He doesn't seem to have any intention of going anywhere any time soon.]

There are tiny people harassing you, too?

[Sophie's expression is suspicious--but of the town, rather than Ichijou] Yes, two of them. Really, I've no idea what this town gets out of any of this!

I'm not sure whether or not to be glad that it isn't just me. I can't see anyone else's.

What do yours look like? Mine are kind of making me uncomfortable - one looks like me as a child and I guess the other is supposed to look like me in the future or something. Except tiny.

And they both have really terrible ideas.

[she peers at the CAT screen] I don't believe I can see yours either.

[then she frowns thoughtfully at the beings on either side of her] I suppose you would say both of mine are from my past. One is me from when I worked in our family's hat shop, and the other is me from when I was old.

[which is such a natural statement to Sophie that she doesn't even realise what she said. oops]

Mine just insist on questioning me! [curious] What sort of ideas do yours have?

[Meanwhile, Ichijou seems kind of distracted. Even if Sophie's shoulder guides were visible he probably wouldn't even notice.]

I suppose "Young and old" us must be a common theme, then. The little child "me" is, well, the way I was as a child - overly naive and trusting. He keeps telling me to take people's word for everything, to tell everyone exactly what I'm thinking all the time.

At least that one's kind of cute. Old man "me" is... Horrifying, actually. He keeps insulting everyone I talk to, and he's always telling me to threaten people for various reasons. And sometimes he just sort of sits there on my shoulder and laughs...

Regardless of their suggestions, I've been doing just fine making my own decisions. Not that I've had many decisions to make - right now I'm just waiting to hear back from Nathan. I know that he has his CAT now, and I've been asking him for an explanation of just what it is that he's supposedly lying about.

He should know by now that he could tell me anything and I'll still side with him. We have a deal, after all. The only way I'll budge on that is if someone else offers one of equal or greater benefit to me.

Oh. Mine aren't...quite like that. [but she refrains from describing what hers are like]

[she frowns at his statements about Nathan's CAT] Then I do have to wonder why he's still not telling you. [she pauses, glancing to one side] Yes, that's a good question.

Ichijou, are you really so certain we can trust him?

I'm not certain at all, actually. As I've said, the only reason I choose to side with him is because we made a deal, and neither Resarci nor this Ferran or whatever has been able to match or beat it.

I believe that Resarci has the most credibility out of anyone, but if he can't be bothered to offer me the one thing that I want, I can't be bothered to side with him. That's just the way it is.

[ooc: I dropped the "Mr" above by accident. Please pretend it is there]

[she stares, surprised] But...what makes you say that? Resarci was manipulating us from the start!

((I didn't even notice!))

[At this point, he looks directly into the CAT instead of fiddling around with his nails. His expression is dead serious.]

I understand his situation far more than I'd typically be comfortable admitting. You could call it intuition or something, but overall the best way I can describe it is a feeling in my heart that we're a similar kind of "monster."

From a more logical standpoint, I don't see what he has to gain by deceiving us right now. I don't think there's any benefit for him to lie to us at this point. Our current captor wants us to stay put, and Nathan has expressed interest in letting most of us go. Resarci wants us to defy both of them!

It's horribly risky. Clearly he knows that. Why would he be opposing two powerful entities like them if he himself wasn't in a desperate situation?

[Sophie frowns at Ichijou's description. he's never struck her as any sort of "monster." selfish, yes, but she knows plenty of other selfish people. still, they have too much to worry about at the moment for her to argue that point with him, so she lets it go]

Perhaps he thinks the reward for keeping us to himself is worth that risk? Or, as I'm more concerned might be the truth, by being "rid" of us, he means to kill us so that he can be free of whatever ties he still has to this town! [she scowls] I wouldn't doubt it from him.

[and she is in fact nearly there herself]

[She's started on moving a bit quick towards the same destination.]

[she frowns at the text for a moment; Terezi's writing is still a bit difficult for her to read, but she works it out]

Of course not! We're not going to just sit here and wait for Nathan or Resarci to make a decision for us.

Och, you've got them as well. [Jamie's expression is mildly irritated, and only gets more so as he looks off to the side, talking to something that's clearly not Sophie.]

And no, I will not. I've told ye that already.

[He turns back to look at her with his mouth quite firmly off to one side.]

Look, would ye mind some help? Maybe it'll shut them up for awhile.

[Sophie's expression is sour] Oh, I do wish they would be quiet! But yes, Jamie, of course. After all, we need to do everything we can before Resarci or Nathan returns.

[which is why she's still quickly making her way to the Mayor's House. she'll be in the spacestation soon]

Aye. I'll join ye over there, then. You're going to the spacestation, right?

[Because there's got to be something around there somewhere. It's just a matter of finding it.]

Yes, to the Mayor's Office. I'll be there shortly.

Sounds like a good place to start. I'll see you there shortly.

[He pauses for a moment, then makes as if trying to brush something off one shoulder and starts towards the mayor's house, frowning.]

Thank you, Mr Hawk.

[and she continues on her way, just entering the Mayor's House now. she'll be in his office in one of the labs in just a few moments]
